Welcome to the repair shop page
Yannick, our amazing repairman who keeps our items in top shape, also offers repair services for your items.
At our workshop, we repair the following items whenever possible:
- Small appliances: vacuum cleaners (Dyson or other brands), hair dryers, food processors, various cookers, toasters, steamers, etc.
- DIY tools: drills, screwdrivers, sanders, hedge trimmers, pressure washers, extension cords, power strips, and other items
- Luggage: wheel replacement, repair of stuck handles, etc. PLEASE NOTE: For luggage, the workshop does not issue certificates of irreparability for airlines.
- Major appliances: refrigerators, ovens, stoves, washing machines, etc. (specific details can be found in the “estimate” section)
We do not repair:
- Coffee makers
- Sewing machines
- Internal combustion engines
- Projectors
Quote
For all repairs, we charge 20.- for a repair estimate, payable when you drop off the item. We disassemble the item, diagnose the problem, source the necessary parts, and provide you with a quote. If you decline the quote, we return the device in its current condition—that is, disassembled—or we will take it back free of charge so it can be used for other repairs.
HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES: The only drop-off location is at the Charmilles – MACO branch. We require a deposit of 50.- for any item dropped off. This is because, if the item turns out to be beyond repair, we have to pay to dispose of large appliances at the recycling center. If you come back to pick it up, we’ll refund your deposit 😉
Instructions
- Contact the Repair Shop before bringing in an item for repair! (contact information at the bottom of the page). We’ll let you know if we repair that type of item and how long it will take
- Drop off the item for repair at one of our 5 locations (large appliances only at the Charmilles – MACO location at Chemin des Sports 87, 1203)
- We’ll provide you with an estimate, usually via text message
- You decide whether you want to proceed with the repair
- We’ll perform the repair, or return the item to you in its current condition
Why repair it yourself or have it repaired?
- Let’s put an end to the practice of throwing things away and buying new ones.
- Because our planet’s resources are limited, let’s take care of them!
- Because most items can be repaired: 80% of the items brought to us have been repaired!
- Because waste management (funded by taxes) is costly for the community.
