What is La Manivelle?
It’s the largest object library in Switzerland!
Our non-profit cooperative offers you the chance to borrow over 4,500 items of all kinds!
You have access to a vast catalogue featuring a wide range of tools, party supplies, kitchenware, gardening equipment, multimedia gear, sports equipment, cleaning supplies, camping gear and much more.
Why buy something you’ll only use twice a year? It saves you money in every way: no need to spend your money, no need to clutter up your home, and best of all, it’s good for the planet.
The idea is simple: with our one-year Borrowing Passes, you can borrow as many items as you like. If you have a one-off need, you can also opt for item-by-item borrowing (each item has its own price).

A top-class team
A dedicated team keeps La Manivelle running on a day-to-day basis: reception, maintenance, logistics and advice, to ensure that the items are accessible and easy to use.
Borrowing: what to do
1. Create your account
You can create your account online here or at one of our branches. It only takes two minutes!
Once you’ve signed up, you can start reserving items from our catalogue. Before you collect them, you’ll need to pay for your membership or borrowing fees.
2. Choose your pass
You can choose a Standard, Plus, or Unlimited one-year pass, payable either online (by credit card) or at one of our branches (cash, credit card, or TWINT). You can view the different rates here. Some municipalities offer the pass to their residents; see the list here. You can also choose the “pay-per-item” option, in which case you don’t need a pass—you pay for each item you borrow (borrowing fees vary depending on the item).
3. Reserve your items
Reserve anything you’d like at least 2 days in advance through the online catalog. You can come directly to one of our branches to borrow items, but there’s no guarantee they’ll be available on the day you visit. Feel free to call the branch in question before coming.
4. Pick up your items
When you make a reservation, you can choose from several options for picking up your items:
- Pickup location: free—the only option that includes expert advice from our team and the chance to buy supplies! (This is the only option available if you selected “item-by-item rental”)
- Pickup point: at our partners’ locations—also free
- Home delivery: paid service (provided by goFast), except for residents of Onex (delivery provided by Onex, carried out by GenèveRoule)—thanks to Onex!
4. Make the most of your items
Bring all your amazing projects to life using the items you’ve collected. Dance the night away, enjoy a family raclette night, give it your all to finish decorating your camper, complete that awesome piece of furniture, finish renovating the garden… Send us photos to share your success with us!
5. Renew if needed
Loans are valid for one week by default. If the item hasn’t been reserved by someone else, you can renew your loan for an additional week. You can do this directly through your online account BEFORE the loan’s due date. You can also contact us by phone to do so.
6. Return your items
Returns should be made at the same location where you picked up the items.
If you had your items delivered to your home: returns are also handled via delivery!

7. Late Fees
If you do not request an extension before your loan period ends, your return will be considered late and late fees will apply.
Late fees are 1.- per item per day of UNNOTIFIED delay.
This policy is designed to ensure that items remain available to everyone.
How do I get my loan?
1. In-store pickup
The La Manivelle team will be on hand to offer advice, explain how everything works, and show you around the library. It’s a great opportunity to get inspired by new projects!

2. Pickup at a pickup location
You reserve your items online and pick them up at one of our partner locations, at no extra cost. Indicate where you’d like to pick them up when you make your reservation.

3. Home Delivery
Our partner Go-Fast will deliver your items directly to your home by bike. When you make your reservation, select “Home Delivery” and you’re all set!
There is a fee for home delivery.
4. Free Delivery for Onex
Onex offers its residents delivery provided by Genèveroule through its Caddie Service from Tuesday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We thank the town for their support!
